The Lost Elf
Eledril had been escorting a group of elf pilgrims from Rivendell to Celondim. While camped near Adso’s, one of them, a champion named Iroladh, ventured into the Barrow Downs to investigate the restless dead. While in Haudh Taenthrond, he encountered a rotting corpse which awakened and attacked him. As they fought, other undead joined the skirmish, forcing the elf to retreat. He managed to defeat them, and from the first of the undead, who seemed to be their leader, he retrieved an elf-made brooch. Although he could not decipher its name, he could identify the crafters mark; Ordarith. Eledril found Iroladh dazed, trying to get his bearings near the tomb from which he retreated.
Once back at Adsos, Irohadh was found to have minor wounds and becoming weaker, his declining condition beyond the skills of the elven healers in the group, despite having successfully bound his injuries. By the time the pilgrims reached the Falathorn villages, his condition had become severe. His body seemed to be wasting away, and although he was still conscious, he was also delirious. In his confused state, the only clear thought Iroladh has expressed is that Ordarith must be found to explain how her work came to be in the hands of the undead. As far as he knows, she is still in Rivendell. Eledril has brought Iroladh to the Kin Hall.
